It proved to be a long and fruitless day for Lymington I at the sports ground with the rain and a wet soggy square winning the day. The game was abandoned at 15.45 without a ball being bowled. Against fellow relegation rivals Alton a win would have ensured our ongoing presence in the Premier Division. And Lymington got off to a perfect start again with Ben Rogers winning the toss and putting Alton into bat but that is as far as the game got.
There is just one fixture left at Totton and Eling with a 12.30 start. This is another relegation battle with Totton bottom of the table going into this fixture. Even if Lymington lose relegation is not inevitable. Of the other two clubs in the bottom four, Bashley (second from bottom) are at home to Havant with both clubs not in the best of form at present. Alton has a tough home fixture against South Wilts who are the outsiders in the running to be league champions.
